We began our journey in Whangārei after Tom van Esch— a qualified carpenter—saw an opportunity to lift standards in the local building and landscaping scene. His passion to preserve Northland’s precious Kauri was a key motivator, driving us to pair craft‑level workmanship with rigorous environmental care.
In the 20 years since, we’ve handled everything from CBD renovations to back‑country contracts that require boats, barges, or helicopters to reach site. After seeing the work Aspect Contracting had completed for our neighbouring we asked Tom to make our driveway. We had experienced dodgy builders so to have found someone trustworthy, experienced and competent restored our belief in the building industry. Tom is a hard worker and thinker who comes up with the best solution for the job. He only uses sub contractors he knows and trusts, that will work to his high standards, (they even came back on a public holiday to check on the job and cut the contraction joints). The levels on the driveway are perfect, we are currently experiencing cyclone Tam and the heavy rainfall is all trickling down the driveway drain as designed.
